Professional teeth cleaning by Ford & Draper Dental aims to remove plaque, tarter and stains that have accumulated on your teeth. Even with routine brushing and flossing, tarter can develop on your teeth. The professional cleaning of teeth is a crucial part of good oral hygiene and is needed periodically to maintain the health of your teeth and gums. We recommend having your teeth professionally cleaned every 6-12 months to reduce the likelihood of periodontal disease. In between routine cleanings, good oral hygiene at home is vital to prevent tarter build-up and gum disease.
Proper dental care is important for people of all ages. Good dental health requires regular dental check-ups and professional cleanings, so small problems don’t become painful reminders that you’re due for a check-up. Avoid more serious issues that can be expensive to treat by keeping up on your routine check-ups. Don’t delay your visit to Ford and Draper Dental. Our dentists in Ogden are here to serve your dental needs. It is recommended that you receive regular professional dental check-ups and cleaning from the team at Ford and Draper Dental.
Dental implants are an alternative to dentures or bridge work for replacing teeth. The dental implant is typically made from titanium and is surgically implanted in the jaw bone. The implant plays the same role as the root of your missing tooth. Implants are usually placed in our office, using only local anesthesia. Generally, there is minimal post-operative pain or discomfort with dental implants. Nothing takes the place of healthy, natural teeth. But when tooth loss occurs due to disease or accident, it’s good to know there are options to restore your teeth!
Our dentists offer dental fillings to treat cavities. Dental fillings can also be also used to repair cracked or broken teeth. We utilize white, tooth-colored fillings that make your mouth look more natural and attractive. Your teeth and gums were designed to last a lifetime — and they can with proper care. A lifetime of good dental health requires daily care of teeth and gums along with regular dental check-ups.
Dental crowns allow you to cover a tooth that has been damaged. We use crowns to completely cover a tooth and protect it from further damage. Crowns may spare you the expense of having to undergo more involved procedures if the tooth is left untreated. With porcelain crows we are able to restore a beautiful, natural-looking smile that very closely resembles natural tooth enamel and can be color-matched to your surrounding teeth.
Whitening is one of the most popular cosmetic dental procedures because it’s an affordable, easy, and effective way to improve your smile. Our cosmetic dentists at Ford and Draper Dental are experts in brightening beautiful smiles using the latest methods in teeth whitening. We offer one visit in-office ZOOM! & Sinsational Whitening Systems. Our dentists will work with you to determine the best whitening option for your teeth.
X-rays are a necessary part of the diagnostic process, and help our dentists diagnose the health of your mouth. Without an X-ray of the whole tooth, and supporting bone and gum tissues, there is no real way to detect infection or pathology that requires attention. We use digital radiography which allows us to take X-rays using 50-70% less radiation versus conventional X-rays. Coupled with computer monitoring, digital X-ray technology allows us to enhance the images for better diagnosis of any dental concerns.
We provide both Nitrous Oxide and oral sedation dentistry. Nitrous Oxide is a non-allergenic, non-irritating gas that has no color or smell. By simply breathing the Nitrous Oxide, patients with anxiety will relax and feel less discomfort. It is one of the safest forms of sedation available. Oral conscious sedation, on the other hand, is a mild narcotic in the form of a pill or liquid, which has a relatively short duration of effect. During sedation, you will be in a deeply relaxed state, but still responsive, and you will feel no discomfort.
Porcelain is a natural-looking material that reflects light in much the same way as natural tooth enamel, making porcelain veneers a great solution for teeth that are stained or damaged. By bonding a thin layer of porcelain to the front surfaces of teeth, our cosmetic dentists are able to conceal chips, discoloration, gaps and other flaws. We shape the veneers to be as aesthetically pleasing as possible, and are often able to correct misalignment, which might otherwise require braces.
Unfortunately, teeth can become diseased, damaged or injured over time, and in some cases, may need to be removed (extracted). If this should happen to you, one of our highly experienced dentists at Ford & Draper Dental will make the tooth extraction experience as painless as possible and help you explore all the options for tooth replacement, including dentures, implants, crowns and bridges.
We recognize that emergency situations may occur, and we will do everything in our power to respond to you as quickly as possible. If an emergency arises, please call the office as soon as possible so that we can get you in quickly. We also realize that emergencies don’t always occur during regular business hours, which is why we strive to be available to help with your emergency dental needs whenever they arise.
Wisdom teeth are the third and final set of molars that most people get in their late teens or early twenties. Sometimes these teeth don’t require removal if healthy and properly aligned, but more often, they are misaligned and should be removed. The ease at which we can extract your wisdom teeth depends on their position and stage of development. We will be able to give you an idea of what to expect during your pre-extraction exam.
If you are missing one or more of your teeth, our dentists may be able to restore your smile using a dental bridge. Bridges are composed of a replacement tooth or teeth supported on either side by a porcelain crown. These crowns are connected to the teeth adjacent to a gap, creating a strong and natural looking replacement. Non-removable bridges provide a sturdier, more stable solution to missing teeth than removable dentures, giving our patients the feeling of having permanent teeth once again.
A root canal procedure can relieve the pain caused by diseased or injured pulp tissue in the center of the tooth. Many times, this tissue cannot repair itself and a root canal is required to save the tooth. After a root canal treatment, you should have no lasting pain or sensitivity in the tooth. With good oral hygiene, the tooth should last for years. We use local anesthetics that will make your treatment as comfortable as possible. If you are experiencing tooth pain, please make an appointment today.
